Magistrate certifies several fines, dismisses others and closes some cases at May 7 docket
Summary
On a busy docket magistrate certified fines for numerous parking and property cases, dismissed some cases where permits were pulled, and closed others after compliance; administrative fees were discussed and mailed orders confirmed.
Special Magistrate Scott Kleinman addressed a range of routine code-enforcement matters on May 7 and entered findings resulting in certified fines, dismissals, orders of compliance and case closures.
Among the outcomes recorded on the docket:
- A violation for a fence installed without a permit at 10470 SW 51st Street (case 243235) was found to exist; the owner had applied for a permit that was being held for fees. The magistrate gave the owner until May 30 to secure the permit and warned a $50-per-day fine would commence after that date if not cured.
- Multiple residential parking and commercial-vehicle cases were certified for fines where citations were unpaid and no appeal was filed. Examples include case 6243 (Scott Bedner), case 6244 (Brian K. Sokolowski and Nancy R. Gomez), case 6250 (John Thompson) and case 6282 (Kaylee Hermelin and James Myers); the magistrate certified $100 citation fines plus $150 administrative fees in those matters.
- Some cases were dismissed where a permit was pulled shortly after notice. Golden Arrow Import Export LLC (case 250419) had a permit pulled and the magistrate dismissed that case; SPG Cooper City LLC (case 250459) was reported in compliance and dismissed.
- Rock Church of Hollywood’s case (EEN240022) was closed after the city confirmed compliance with demolition of a recreation field.
Magistrate Kleinman noted that orders will be mailed and reminded respondents that administrative fees are assessed per proceeding. He continued several matters to the June 4 docket where inspections or paperwork remain outstanding.
