Neighbor and engineer reports long‑burned home; county inspector posts 'do not occupy' sign

Sladek said he lives at 5531 Clifffield Drive and that he prepared a letter to the county with photographs documenting the damaged home. He identified himself as a registered Washington civil and structural engineer with roughly 50 years of experience and said he had observed the property from public vantage points but had not entered the site.
"Inspector Chance was posting a do not occupy unsafe structure placard on the home," Sladek said, indicating the county had recently taken enforcement steps. Sladek offered to assist Development Services with technical information and inspection coordination.
The board thanked Sladek for bringing the matter forward and noted that county staff had already engaged on the issue.
