County employees raise $755 for Children's Advocacy Center in April dress-down fundraiser

Commissioners recognized a county dress-down fundraiser that raised $755 for the Franklin County Children's Advocacy Center during April, which is Child Abuse Awareness Month.
Carrie and Becky Voss, the center's director, told commissioners the center provides a child-friendly site for forensic interviews, advocacy and coordination among law enforcement, children and youth services, medical professionals and mental-health providers. Becky Voss said the center reduces trauma by allowing a child to tell their story once while the investigative team watches by closed-circuit television.
Carrie said more than 50 employees contributed to the fundraiser across about 23 county departments. Commissioners thanked staff and the CAC for their work and posed for photographs following the presentation.
