Boise City Airport Director Ho told the Airport Commission on May 7 that passenger traffic is up 9% year to date and that the airport recently passed a comprehensive three‑day Federal Aviation Administration inspection with no discrepancies.
Ho said the airport has contingency plans in place for the federal Real ID rollout that day and reported operations at Boise appeared to be running smoothly in coordination with TSA and law enforcement. She described a separate screening lane and additional TSA staffing for passengers who require extra screening because their state identification is not Real ID–verified.
The commission also heard that Frontier Airlines will return to Boise on May 15 with three weekly flights to Denver. Ho said that will bring Boise’s carrier count to 10.
On finances, Ho told the commission staff will forward proposed adjustments to rates and charges to Boise City Council for fiscal year 2026. She said the airport plans to increase the fuel flowage fee by three cents per gallon — the first increase since 2007 — to better align with peer airports. Ho also said staff will propose parking‑rate adjustments intended to encourage use of different parking products during peak periods. Final adoption of rate changes will be decided by City Council.
Ho explained concession revenue was down in the most recent accounting period due to a year‑end true‑up with a retail concession operator and that construction and remodel closures will further affect concession sales while projects are underway.
