The Property Committee reported updates on several capital and summer projects at the Springfield Township School District interim meeting on May 6.
Mr. Neil DeFranco said CHA Solutions reported on summer projects including the Erdenheim ramp project (wrap-up), and middle school fields project Phase 2; the committee said sod installation for the fields was pending at the time of the committee meeting and has since been completed. High-jump surfacing remained in progress because of color issues, with completion expected soon.
CHA's team also reported that the high school roof replacement Phase 3 will include roofing over the natatorium. That work is scheduled to begin in June with anticipated completion by Aug. 29. The middle school renovation and additions project was described as on schedule and on budget: stage conversion to a fitness and health center is underway, site demolition for an auditorium addition is complete, stormwater relocation and soils exchange are in progress, and the bus canopy demolition is finished.
Operations updates noted a new mural at the Enfield library, a rebuilt Gaga pit at Erdenheim, fresh paint in the high school auditorium, replacement of HVAC filters, and new campus mulching and banners. The committee also reviewed a facilities condition survey compiled to inform the district's five-year capital plan; recommendations are prioritized by index to reflect degree of need. The Property Committee has a meeting scheduled for June 10 to continue oversight.
