Council appoints residents to recreation, public‑safety and oversight committees

Following interviews on May 6 the Manteca City Council filled seats on the Recreation & Parks Commission, the Public Safety Sales Tax Oversight Committee and the Citizens Oversight Committee; most appointments were unanimous.
The Manteca City Council interviewed applicants and approved multiple volunteer appointments at its May 6 meeting.
Recreation & Parks Commission (D‑1): Council appointed the following residents to fill six regular seats and one alternate: Tony Dhaliwal (District 1), Floralba Pucci (District 2), Charles Paz (District 3), Amy Bertolli (District 4), Sean Frazier (mayor at‑large), Bahar Sundu (mayor at‑large) and Kyle (alternate). Council confirmed the slate by unanimous vote.
Public Safety Sales Tax Oversight Committee (D‑2): Council appointed district and at‑large members to the five‑member committee and one alternate; selections included Steve McKee (District 2), Bruce Mandel (District 3) and Lehi Bridal (District 4). The mayor’s at‑large appointment was Andrew Paul and the alternate was Angelina (as recorded). Appointments carried by voice vote, 5‑0.
Citizens Oversight Committee (Measure Q) (D‑3): District 3 appointee Tate McKenzie was appointed as the regular member and Dean Fadif was appointed as the alternate. Terms and expiration dates were read into the record and recorded as ending Dec. 31, 2026 for those seats.
Councilmembers thanked all applicants for volunteering and encouraged applicants who were not selected to remain engaged; staff will notify appointees and publish commission rosters.
All appointments made on May 6 were approved by unanimous council vote.
