Superintendent Dr. Valente announced what he described as a “win-win agreement” between the district and the Eastchester Administrators Association (EAA) covering 14 school administrators.
The superintendent said the five-year contract will run from July 2025 through June 30, 2030, and includes an “equity salary adjustment” that moves administrators’ salaries toward the top 80th percentile among Westchester County school leaders. He said longevity increases and a merit-based performance component also are included.
Under the agreement, EAA members will be evaluated twice annually using the district’s existing Multidimensional Principal Performance Rubric. Dr. Valente summarized the negotiated merit bands: lower-rated evaluations would trigger smaller percent increases while midrange and higher ratings would become associated with larger increases; the range discussed was about 0–4% depending on rating and placement in the metric.
The superintendent also said the district and EAA agreed to increase administrators’ health insurance contribution gradually to 20% by the final year of the contract (2029–30). Dr. Valente said the parties view the five-year term as providing stability.
Erin, speaking “on behalf of the EAA executive board,” thanked the board and the district bargaining team for what she described as “the spirit of collaboration that [the agreement] represents.”
District negotiators named during the meeting included Chandra Merrill (who “did the numbers”), interim business official Dr. Bill Meyer, Robert Cacoby and Jill Post; Joanna and Aaron were identified as part of the EAA negotiating delegation. No formal ratification vote was recorded in the public portion of the meeting during the transcripted portion.
The superintendent thanked the bargaining teams and called the agreement an advance toward competitiveness for school leadership pay and stability for administrators.
