Commission approves $73,000 engineering contract for Jewell Road bridge project

Road and Bridge Superintendent Joe Snyder told the board the consultant fee totals $73,000 for engineering (preliminary field check plans, office checks and final plans). Snyder said inspection services will be bid separately and will be an additional cost.
Commissioner Quinn moved to approve the consulting agreement and a second was recorded; the board approved the contract by voice vote, “Aye,” with a tally of 3‑0.
The board directed staff to proceed with plan checks and then advertise the project for construction bidding, with inspection services to be procured when required.
