Board approves first readings to consolidate facilities policy, update visitor policy and remove duplicate community-partnership policy

The board also approved on first reading an update to policy 05:10 (School Visitors). Staff said the revised language aligns the local policy with VSBA language and that operations and family & community engagement staff had reviewed it; board members said the changes were minor and routine.
Finally, the board voted to remove policy 523 (community partnerships) from the manual; staff and a board member explained the content in that older 1991 policy is superseded by policy 501 and 524 and that deletion was intended to avoid duplication and streamline the section.
All three items passed on first reading with unanimous board approval as recorded in the meeting’s business meeting minutes.
