The council also voted to hold the required public hearing on a proposed capital improvement revenue bond at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, to be immediately followed by the regular council meeting.
Several items drew public comment. During the discussion of the rezoning request for 3305 Dan Avenue, resident Patty Lack asked whether prior commercial uses of that property had been addressed by code enforcement; staff indicated they would follow up but no enforcement history was provided during the meeting. James Owen Hines spoke during the public comment period against additional liquor outlets in the city in response to the private club permit application; the council advanced that item to a second reading.
