Staff reported the vacation would resolve a plat/replat issue ahead of a replat (case C8J-03-0111.1ASh) and that affected city departments recommended approval subject to conditions in the master comment report; the applicant will dedicate a wastewater easement following the vacation. The commission voted to approve the vacation unanimously of those present.
- Right-of-way vacation: 21 Juliana Cove (partial vacation of cul-de-sac wings). Presented by Christopher Bueger; applicant’s representative Richard Bridal described a planned mixed-use redevelopment that will remove an existing building and reconfigure internal circulation (convert the cul-de-sac wings into a connecting u-shaped drive that will link Strandman Cove); the city will retain public utility and drainage easements. The commission approved the partial vacation unanimously of those present.
What the votes mean
The vacation approvals remove public right-of-way from the city’s map subject to conditions and easement dedications; both vacations were presented as prerequisites to forthcoming replats and new development. The ETOD recommendation transmits the commission’s endorsement of the two station-area plans to City Council for final action. The commission recorded no votes against any motion at the meeting.
