Minn. House receives Senate messages, names conference committees, holds first readings and adjourns to May 7, 2025

The Minnesota House of Representatives on an otherwise routine day received a series of messages from the Minnesota Senate asking that conference committees be appointed on a number of House and Senate files, approved motions to form two House conference committees to meet the Senate, took first readings of two Senate files and adjourned until 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.

The messages from the Senate announced that it had acceded to requests for conference committees on several House files and provided the names of the Senate members appointed to those committees. The Senate also transmitted that it refused to concur in House amendments to Senate File No. 2077 (an environment and natural resources appropriation bill) and to Senate File No. 2370 (an act relating to cannabis), and requested conference committees on those files. In response, Representative Nash moved that the House accede to the Senate's requests and that the speaker appoint House conference committees to meet with the Senate committees.
