The Salt Lake County Board of Equalization on May 6, 2025 approved the assessor's and hearing officer's recommendations and a list of tax-exempt properties for tax year 2025, following brief motions and unanimous voice votes.
The actions were taken during a short meeting called to order at 1:30 p.m. The board heard two staff presentations and moved quickly through routine items, including approval of the prior meeting's minutes.
Brad Neff, tax administrator, presented the assessor and hearing officer recommendations, saying, "Yes. We have, 5, hearing officer and, assessor recommendations we seek approval for. This kinda this is end of the board year for us." A motion to approve that item was made by Board member Wenderdahl and seconded by Board member Stewart (who appeared online). The board approved the recommendation by voice vote; there was no recorded roll-call tally in the transcript.
For exempt properties, Chris Harding was noted as the listed presenter but Ross Rogers spoke on Harding's behalf. Rogers said, "So, yeah, we're just seek approval of the attached list of the exempt properties." Board member Bradshaw moved approval; Board member Harrison seconded. The board approved the exempt-property list for tax year 2025 by voice vote.
Earlier in the meeting the board approved the minutes of a prior meeting; the transcript records a motion to approve minutes followed by a second and an affirmative voice vote.
There were no public commenters on the item at the meeting. The board adjourned after the votes.
Actions taken at the meeting—approval of minutes, approval of the assessor/hearing officer recommendations, and approval of the exempt-property list—will affect the county's tax roll and the status of properties granted exemptions for tax year 2025.
