The Trinity County Board of Supervisors on May 6 approved three separate items that were presented for action: a fiscal-year budget adjustment for the county audit department, a second-reading ordinance amending county cannabis regulations and a set of Title 3 Secure Rural Schools funding agreements. All three actions were approved by unanimous roll call.
The board approved an audit-department budget adjustment that increased services-and-supplies appropriations by $23,531 and decreased general-fund contingency by the same amount for fiscal year 2024-25 (agenda item E-1).
On a second reading the board adopted an ordinance amending Trinity County Code sections 17.43 (commercial cannabis regulations) and 17.32 (use permits) to clarify elements of the administrative buffer-reduction process and related procedures; the item was introduced April 15 and passed on May 6 (agenda item E-2). Cannabis Division Director Drew Pilvani presented the background and said the changes focus on the consent/opposition letter process and scheduling of contested buffer-reduction requests to the planning commission.
Under agenda item E-3 the board selected proposals and authorized the County Administrative Officer to sign agreements for projects funded by Title 3 of the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act. Staff told the board the proposed allocations reflected available Title 3 funding and that recipient organizations had accepted the allocations as presented.
Each item passed on a unanimous roll call. The board recorded each supervisor as voting "Aye": Supervisor Leweller; Supervisor Carpenter Harris; Supervisor Cox; Supervisor Brownfield; and Chairman Goguen.
