Montezuma County adopts new fairgrounds fee schedule, effective July 1

The Montezuma County Board of County Commissioners voted to adopt the Montezuma County Fairgrounds rate schedule B at its May 6, 2025 meeting, with the board setting the new fees to take effect July 1.

The vote followed a workshop the day before where the board discussed two proposals. Commissioners approved rate schedule B, which includes a 6% increase on added rates that had been under consideration during the workshop.

The motion to adopt the rate schedule was moved and seconded during the meeting, and the chair called for the question. Commissioners responded in the affirmative and the motion carried. When asked about the effective date, a commissioner said, “July 1 is what we were talking about,” so events already scheduled earlier in the summer would not be retroactively affected.
