Ellis County introduces several new employees across departments

Ellis County commissioners heard introductions of new hires from multiple departments, including EMS, dispatch, public works, jail detention and HR; department heads gave brief backgrounds and welcomed new staff.
At the May 6 meeting, Ellis County department heads introduced several recently hired employees to the commission.
Jennifer Taylor of Ellis County Human Resources opened the introductions and invited department heads to present their new staff. Danita Schroeder, EMS director, introduced Lauren Welchel, an EMT from Mankato attending Fort Hays State University and hired part time. Communications Director Jeff Ridgeway introduced Kylie Wiesner, a new dispatcher with about a month on the job. Public works introduced Kevin Fonensteel, a truck driver in his second week with the county, and jail staff introduced Haley Schoenberger as a detention officer. Commissioners welcomed the new hires and wished them well.
The introductions were informational and no formal action was taken other than recognition and congratulations to the new employees.
