Winnebago County supervisors discussed edits to the Board of Adjustment bylaws and asked staff to finalize the document and schedule a meeting to adopt the changes.
Planning staff member Kelsey said she circulated proposed edits in November to change the frequency of the Board of Adjustment meetings from quarterly to annually unless additional meetings are requested. Board members who reviewed the edits offered no substantive changes. Supervisors instructed staff to schedule a meeting, publish the required public notice in the paper, and include routine items such as annual appointments of officers and the secretary on the agenda.
Kelsey said she had received some feedback from Board of Adjustment members but that no outstanding edits remained; supervisors asked staff to set a meeting date roughly 30 days out and to post the meeting details on the county website so interested residents can attend. The board also clarified that the zoning administrator has traditionally served as secretary; at the last board meeting staff formally documented the zoning administrator as secretary of the Board of Adjustment.
