City volunteers and the activities committee presented the 2025 Music on the Lake concert series to council on May 5, announcing band dates, sponsors and event logistics. The series opens June 4 at 7 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park.
Henry Bowman (activities committee) reviewed the lineup: June 4 — Blue Water Kings; subsequent concerts include Bernadette Catherine and the Lonely Days, Kathleen Murray and the Groove Council, Main Street Drive, a July 9 appearance by classic-rock band Zang, Rockstar, Stone Blossoms (Uncle Cracker's band), Captain Fantastic (Ron Voss) performing Elton John material, Sunset Boulevard and Family Tradition to close the season. Organizers emphasized long-time local support from Petaprint and new or returning sponsorship from Michael Agnello, Rick Burgess (BAS Securities), Trader Todd and Virginia (marina), CJ Wolf (Little Blue Book) and others.
Carl Schwarzwalder, vice chair of the activities committee, thanked the parks and recreation department for site prep and logistics, and noted that the event attracts thousands, often with 60'80 boats on good nights; organizers transmit the concert audio to local boat radios so attendees on the water can listen. Council members and committee volunteers asked residents to support sponsors and follow site guidance for safety and cleanup.
Ending: The series is free to attend; residents should check the city's events calendar and the Music on the Lake social channels for band schedules and any weather-related changes.
