HHS transitions staff to county timekeeping, wins EMR grant; committee approves half-day staff training

Carrie, deputy director for Health and Human Services, told the committee the department completed a transition of 18 remaining HHS staff to the countywide timekeeping system, TimeClock Plus (TCP), to align with county payroll and attendance processes. "We fully trained and transitioned the remaining 18 staff to be in the county timekeeping system of TCP or time clock plus, to align with the remainder of the county," Carrie said.
She also said the department applied for and received a grant to help purchase and implement a new, agency-wide electronic medical record (EMR) system. "That will mainly cover our implementation fees and a partial year of subscription fees, and the plan is to begin to implement this new system sometime within the next, 3 months once the contract is signed," Carrie said.
Separately, committee members were informed that an Adult Protective Services worker had been hired and would start the day after the meeting. The committee approved a request to close county HHS at 11 a.m. on June 4 for an all-staff training session. A motion to approve the half-day closure was made, seconded and carried; no roll-call vote totals were recorded in the meeting transcript.
The department said it will provide further updates as the EMR implementation proceeds and will share an agenda for the June training day. No contract, vendor name or precise grant amount was specified during the meeting.
