The City of Bend Accessibility Advisory Committee approved the April 24 draft minutes and passed two letters of support at its May 20 meeting.
Chair Liz Woodfin called for approval of the April 24 minutes. CO BAC member Andrew Caruana moved to approve the minutes and Vice Chair Derek Hottbauer seconded; the chair said the minutes were approved unanimously.
The committee then considered a letter titled "Unleash Advocacy," authored by Aaron Rivers and Ian Isaacson. Andrew Caruana moved to pass the Unleash Advocacy letter; Stephanie Hedzman and Liz Deeter Martin seconded the motion. Chair Woodfin called the question and the motion passed by unanimous vote.
A second letter regarding transportation accessibility authored by Andrew (surname given in transcript) was considered with proposed edits to remove redundant language. Committee member Amanda Hamer moved to approve the transportation letter incorporating the edits proposed by Liz Deeter Martin; Stephanie Hedzman seconded the motion. The chair called the vote; the motion passed. Vice Chair Derek Hottbauer stated on the record that he would abstain from that vote because of a potential conflict of interest.
Ending: The approved letters will be finalized with the announced edits and disseminated by committee staff. The chair and staff asked members to submit any additional editorial feedback by email before final distribution.
