Spring City council approves purchase of new electrical line truck

Staff inspected used replacement units across multiple states and identified a suitable vehicle returned from rental service in Utah; the seller agreed to reduce the price by $15,000 after staff negotiations. The truck required a wiring-harness repair discovered during testing; the seller has replaced the wiring harness.
Staff said the new truck's purchase is time-sensitive because the existing unit cannot be certified after November and would not be usable for setting poles. The city noted it may be able to sell the old truck at auction with a reserve price.
Councilmember Courtney Sim moved to approve the purchase from the electric fund; the motion passed unanimously. Council voted that the purchase will be paid from the electric fund and that staff should pursue selling the old truck at auction.
