Staff said the award allocates the remaining SKIP funds from an earlier phase and adds a modest contingency. Scott (public works) told council the revised map focuses on connecting new pipe to reduce infiltration and to tie previously completed segments together, which will yield operational savings and reduced sewer flows to the treatment plant.
Why it matters: council and staff said these replacements will reduce recurring maintenance, lower inflow/infiltration and remove problem segments that frequently required repair. Staff noted the work is funded from the SKIP grant/budget and that state funding requires timely expenditure.
