The item drew no substantive comments from the Department of Fire and Public Safety. Captain Oliver Voss of the Department of Fire and Public Safety told the committee, “We have no comments at this time, but we're here for questions.” Deputy Corporation Counsel Mike Hopper also said he had no opening comments.
One in-person speaker, identified as testifier JC Law, said he had trouble accessing the cited portion of county code and asked county staff to confirm public access to the referenced materials. The committee closed public testimony with no additional speakers.
Committee Chair Tamara Paulton recommended the bill for first reading. A motion to recommend first reading was moved by Charlie and seconded by Committee Vice Chair Nohelani 'u'uha James.
