Syracuse City Council unanimously approved two related ordinances to update the general plan and rezone a parcel near 2000 West and 2700 South.
The council approved Ordinance 25-22, a general plan amendment, and Ordinance 25-23, a zone change from Residential R-1 to Residential R-3. A councilmember said aligning higher-density housing along freeway corridors “makes more sense” than commercial use for that location.
There was no new information raised beyond materials in the meeting packet; the council noted no changes since the prior discussion and voted to approve both ordinances together.
The ordinances were approved by unanimous vote. Staff will implement the map amendment and update the city zoning map according to the ordinances.
