Two students were recognized for perfect ACT scores: Katie Namkong (Westmere High School) and Lee Cooper (Sterlington High School).
On personnel actions, the board announced administrative appointments: Jason Ambrose, director of information technology; Gonzadia Brothers, special education supervisor; Anna Reddy, principal at George Welch Elementary; Nick (last name or initial in transcript: RT), principal at Ouachita Parish High School; Ronnie Harrison Jr., assistant principal at Sterlington High School; Lisa Rocket, assistant principal at Lakeshore Elementary; and Mindy Adams, assistant principal at Swartz Upper. The superintendent also said several positions will be opened because of retirements and promotions, including principal positions at Richwood High School and Swartz Lower and a curriculum coordinator opening at Sterlington High School. The superintendent said personnel staff will begin the recruitment process for those openings.
The board noted several upcoming graduation ceremonies across the district and a HiSET (formerly GED) commencement for students in an alternative‑education pathway; staff said details and times were provided during the meeting.
