Rexburg council approves pickleball project funding transfer, wastewater equipment bid, LID 54 and routine items; moves to executive session

The Rexburg City Council approved a package of routine and project actions during its meeting, including a budget transfer for pickleball court work, acceptance of a wastewater equipment bid, creation of a local improvement district and several standard consent items. The council then voted to move into executive session on labor contract and real property acquisition matters.

Budget transfer for park/pickleball projects: The council voted to transfer $45,000 from the contingency fund to the park construction fund to pay change orders and repairs for two pickleball-related projects. Finance staff said additional work at Smith Park (replacement of north-side fabric, posts and gates per user requests) added about $10,600 to that project; repairs to aging courts at Nature Park were estimated at just over $34,000. A council member moved the budget adjustment; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
