Queen Creek provides quarterly CIP update; highlights Public Safety Complex, Chrisman Road and ARPA‑funded work

The town’s capital projects director delivered a quarterly update describing progress on design and construction for a range of infrastructure projects across Queen Creek.

Projects under construction and in design include the Chrisman Road extension from Cloud to Riggs (currently staged to keep Cloud open while school is in session), the Riggs/Harvest traffic signal installation, the recently opened Aquatic and Recreation Center, and active interior and exterior work at the Public Safety Complex (including apparatus pump test pits, a shooting range, and canine kennels). The Chrisman Road work required coordination with farm irrigation systems and associated pipe relocation, staff said.

Dave Lepinski, the town’s capital projects director, said several projects are part of ARPA funding delivered through a $35,000,000 pass‑through grant from Pinal County. He said the town has an obligation to spend and be reimbursed by December 2026 and that staff are phasing projects and keeping contingency projects in design in case timing or budgets change. Lepinski noted substantial water‑line work tied to upcoming Pinal County roadway reconstruction and said crews are coordinating schedules to minimize delays.

Lepinski also showed progress on the ASLD (Arizona State Land Department) infrastructure and the LG site at Pecos and Ironwood, where curb and base paving operations are under way. Councilmembers asked operational questions about irrigation piping in a farm field that will later be developed and requested a legend to explain CIP slide coding for future reports.

The update was informational and required no council action.
