Christy Scass with PEC updated the Valley Center City Council on May 6 on the Main Street project. She said the primary remaining work is the Sissonnette and Meridian roundabout where crews were pouring concrete the week of the meeting and installing curbs and the centerpiece of the roundabout.
Scass said the project schedule currently shows substantial completion in early July and that the road itself could open about a week before final completion, with the July 4 timeframe possible if no major rain events occur. Lighting for the intersection had been delivered and crews were finishing cleanup and punch-list items. Council members asked about sidewalks and driveway completions; Scass said sidewalks were finishing and expected to be complete before the intersection opens.
The update also noted that the north portion of Meridian (Main to Fifth) has been complete for some time and that remaining items relate mostly to the roundabout and lighting.
