Mississippi Children’s Museum to host free weeklong third-grade camp for JPS scholars, district says

Jackson Public Schools informed the board May 6 that the district seeks to enter an agreement with the Mississippi Children’s Museum to offer a free one-week summer camp (June 99913) for selected third-grade scholars to support passage of the third-grade Mississippi academic assessment.
Executive Director of Advanced Academics Dr. Anthony Moore told the board each student selected for the week-long camp will receive targeted instruction, breakfast, lunch and snacks at no cost to families. The district’s transportation department will provide scholar transportation to and from the site.
Administration presented the item as an information review and invited board questions; board members had no substantive questions during the presentation.
