Board adopts two policies from committee, selects evaluation tool format for director of schools

The Lincoln County School Board on Wednesday adopted two policies recommended by its policy committee and approved a new evaluation tool format for the director of schools.
Board members, acting on committee recommendations, adopted policy 3.206 on community use of school facilities and policy 6.204 addressing attendance of non-residential students. Both motions were presented as committee recommendations and were approved without needing a second.
On the director evaluation, the board reviewed two draft tools described as "LC" and "MC." Board members said they preferred the MC format and moved to adopt it. The MC tool will be converted into a Google document to embed automated percentage calculations and to preserve space for narrative comments.
"I think there was agreement to a point that MC was better. We're gonna make it into a Google doc so that it can have ingrained algorithms that will figure the percentages," a board member said while discussing the evaluation format.
