Committee sends homeowner tax‑relief fix to Assembly floor unanimously

The presenter said the fix is intended to prevent homeowners affected by declared disasters from losing their homes because administrative timing prevented an assessor from approving an installment plan before the sale process started. No witnesses appeared in opposition or in support at the table.
The committee approved AB 1416 and moved it to the Assembly floor. The roll call recorded unanimous support: Gibson, Ta, Carrillo, DeMile, Garcia, McKinner and Quirk Silva all voted aye and the measure passed 7‑0.
