Superintendent Dr. Zuckerman told the Northern Burlington County Regional School District board that the district has gathered community input to update its mission statement and will hold several presentations to solicit feedback before returning a final recommendation in June.
Dr. Zuckerman said the district—s "thought exchange" yielded participation from more than 1,100 people who produced about 803 individual responses and provided over 18,000 ratings. Administrators used the ratings to identify themes for draft mission statements.
The superintendent outlined upcoming engagement dates: meetings with staff during faculty meetings, presentations at the middle-school choir event on May 14 and the high-school band concert on May 22, and an online posting of the presentation and comment opportunity on May 23 for those who cannot attend in person. The board received an advance copy of the presentation with the superintendent—s report.
Dr. Zuckerman said the board should expect a final recommendation on the updated mission statement in his June report. He said the district will use feedback gathered at in-person sessions and online to refine the draft.
No formal board action was taken; the superintendent—s timeline sets the process for continued community engagement and a future board recommendation.
