Alamance commissioners adopt Motorcycle Safety and Clerks Week proclamations; appoint Tim Britt to Social Services Board

The Alamance County Board of Commissioners unanimously adopted two proclamations and filled a vacancy on the Social Services Board during its meeting on Monday.
The board proclaimed May 2025 as Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month and urged residents to share the road with motorcyclists. The proclamation cited National Highway Traffic Safety Administration guidance and local riding organizations, and recognized motorcycle safety education and rider training groups. Chaplain Jean Boswell of the Concerned Bikers Association spoke during the presentation and asked that the proclamation be displayed at a public location in Graham.
Separately, the board proclaimed May 4–10 as Clerks to the Board of County Commissioners Week, honoring Tori Reed, Alamance County Clerk to the Board, and noting North Carolina statute requiring counties to appoint a clerk to perform official recordkeeping duties.
The board also considered two applications for one open seat on the Social Services Board and appointed Tim Britt to fill the position. A commissioner moved to appoint Britt, another commissioner seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
Consent agenda items were approved without discussion. There were no roll‑call vote counts read into the public record for these items; the chair called for voice votes and commissioners answered "aye."
