The Richland County Planning Commission on May 5 approved several procedural and consent items.
The commission voted to remove item 7 (2025 land development code updates action) from the May agenda and defer it to June after staff noted it had been placed on the May agenda in error. The motion to adopt the agenda as amended passed on a roll call vote.
The commission then approved the minutes from the Feb. 3 and April 7, 2025 meetings.
On the consent agenda, the commission approved case 25-018MA (map amendment) and forwarded it to county council with a staff recommendation of compliance with the comprehensive plan. The chair noted there were no road-name changes in the packet for this month.
Staff reminded the commission that, for May only, the county council zoning public hearing will be held Tuesday, May 20 at 7 p.m. in council chambers (rather than the council’s typical fourth-Tuesday schedule). Staff also said some cases could be deferred at the request of council members to allow town-hall meetings in the district.
These items were all procedural votes or actions to forward recommendations and did not change county code nor represent final council action.
