Rules Committee continues SoMa Community Stabilization Fund advisory appointment

The Rules Committee on May 5 continued consideration of one appointment to the SoMa Community Stabilization Fund Community Advisory Committee because the candidate, identified as Dandy Buckley, had not arrived. The committee voted to continue the item to the call of the chair.

Grace Lee of the Mayor's Office of Housing and Community Development told the committee the SoMa Community Stabilization Fund advisory committee was established in 2006 to advise MOHCD and the Board of Supervisors on expenditures from the fund and that the committee has seven seats intended to represent the district's cultural and LGBTQ communities. Lee said Buckley had submitted an application and staff supported the nomination but was not present due to traffic.

Supervisor Walton asked whether the item needed to go to public comment before a continuance; the clerk advised the committee it could move on and hold action until later in the meeting. The committee later returned to the item and moved to continue it to the call of the chair; the clerk recorded the vote as Vice Chair Cheryl: aye; Member Madeline: absent; Chair Walton: aye, and noted Member Mandelmann was absent for the later continuation. No public comment was offered on the matter.
