Graham County supervisors approve travel, equipment and health-department IT purchases

Several routine consent items were approved by the Graham County Board of Supervisors during the May 5 meeting, including out-of-state travel for a sheriff's detective, the unbudgeted purchase of a trencher attachment for a skid steer, and replacement office equipment for the health department.
The board approved out-of-state travel for Detective Bretton Harsh to attend a conference in Chicago, Aug. 4'6. The motion passed on voice vote.
The board also approved buying an unbudgeted capital item: a 6-inch trencher attachment for the county's skid steer, which staff said will speed park and paving work and avoid repeated rental costs. A supervisor said the purchase had been planned in next year's budget but was being accelerated.
Bridal Douglas of the health department presented a proposed purchase of two copy machines and six computers, telling the board state funding (rather than general fund dollars) would pay for the equipment. Douglas said the county would obtain three quotes before purchase as standard procurement practice; a supervisor moved to approve the purchase and the motion carried.
All motions passed by voice vote with the chair announcing the approvals.
