Residents press Carroll County Commission on alleged phone wiping and meeting minutes quality

Fred Cain of Wolfeborough asked why a former commissioner had said the county “wiped the cell phone” when the county’s policy is to retain records. Cain said he found the claim “troubling” and asked for transparency given a pending investigation. The commission chair responded, “For the record, we did not wipe the cell phone clean.”
Dallas Emery said he was disappointed with the April 28 meeting minutes, describing them as “just a list of names mostly” and saying they lacked subject-matter detail. Commissioners accepted the minutes at the May 5 meeting after a motion and voice vote, but Emery and other commentators requested fuller minutes.
The public also asked for copies of the IT report and the Mountain View staffing/agency reports; staff agreed to include the staffing report in materials forwarded to the delegation and to provide copies on request.
