President Pro Tem Aaron McCormick, Treasurer Robert Gunter and other board members conducted the brief meeting; President Terry and Chief of Police Phil Smith were noted as absent. The board held motions and voice votes on executive-session applicants and administrative items before adjourning at 8:40 a.m.
The board voted to accept applicants that had been reviewed in executive session by Sergeant Dexter Wolf. The accepted application identifiers recorded in the minutes were 8412624149 and 24152; a separate acceptance was recorded for an entry transcribed as "Access0.4Dash001.4Dash118." The board approved the minutes of its April 2, 2025, meeting. The board's financial report noted payroll totals of $251,390.85 for both the April 15 and April 30 payrolls.
Retired Lt. Walter Kokesberger (the transcript alternately spells the name as "Walter Kolkusburger") was reported to have died April 29, 2025. The board moved and seconded to remove him from the payroll; the motion carried on a voice vote.
The meeting record also noted two resignations: Officer Alec Huff, badge number recorded as "16O6," resigned effective April 8, 2025, after 8 months and 24 days of service; and Officer Cherokee Brockman, badge number 1527, resigned effective May 1, 2025, after 3 years, 8 months and 13 days of service. The transcript presents the resignations as reported items; no separate roll-call vote on acceptance of the resignations is recorded in the minutes.
The board set its next regular meeting for June 4, 2025, at 8:15 a.m. in Room 307 at the Civic Center and adjourned at 8:40 a.m.
