Madison County Fiscal Court approved the following actions during its May 13, 2025 meeting. All items below were adopted by recorded roll call unless noted.
- Resolution 2025-036: Authorize payment to the Madison County Clerk for motor vehicle and boat bills (Total claim reported: $16,000.65). Motion approved by roll call.
- Resolution 2025-037: Approve proposed discontinuance of county road maintenance for a portion of Courage Road (removing 2,990.7 square feet as depicted in the attached right-of-way survey) and return the parcel to property owners per written recommendation from the Road Supervisor and independent road commissioners. Motion approved by roll call.
- Resolution 2025-038: Award bid and approve purchase of conducted energy weapons (CEW/TASER replacements) for the Madison County Detention Center to Axon Enterprise, Inc., $48,096 over a 60-month term (five annual payments of $9,619.20). The jailer and staff explained the existing devices are being phased out and the new model (X7) has closer-range capabilities and includes warranties, cartridges, training and digital evidence upload; motion approved by roll call.
- Resolution 2025-039: Reappoint Larry Todd to the Southern Madison Water District board for a term expiring 06/17/2025; motion approved by roll call.
- Resolution 2025-040 and 2025-041: Reappointments to the Madison County Board of Adjustments for Keith Park and Keith Weaver (terms noted in the resolutions); motions approved by roll call.
- Resolution 2025-042: Authorize terms and contingencies to pursue purchase of 2494 Lexington Road and permit assignment to the Central Kentucky Business Park Authority if agreed by all parties; motion approved by roll call (see separate article for details).
- Resolution 2025-043: Approve bid award for due-diligence services for 2494 Lexington Road to Bayer Becker and Spencer Land Surveying (lowest bid) and authorize execution of contracts; motion approved by roll call.
The court also approved personnel recommendations listed in the meeting packet and authorized payment of claims and transfers by roll call vote. No votes were taken on first readings of ordinances 2025-005 (animal control), 2025-006 (land-use change) or 2025-007 (administrative code); those items move to second reading at a subsequent meeting.
