Mister Grama (department representative) told the board that the lease documents were only recently received and sent to the town attorney for review, which is why the packet did not include the signed lease. Town staff said if the congregation/church property currently under review becomes available, the town could be released from the lease.
Vice Mayor Cates moved to accept the lease agreement pending legal approval; Alderman Austin seconded. The motion passed on a voice vote. The manager noted the town asked for month‑to‑month but received a 12‑month term; staff emphasized the 45–60‑day release clause in the draft that allows the town to exit if another property becomes available.
The lease will be finalized after attorney Minor's review and brought back to the board as appropriate.
