Douglas County reschedules June meeting to June 25 and cancels July 3 regular meeting

Douglas County commissioners voted unanimously May 15 to reschedule the board's regular meeting that had been set for June 19, 2025, moving it to a special meeting on June 25, 2025, and to cancel the July 3, 2025, regular meeting.
County Manager Jennifer Davidson told the board Nevada Revised Statutes require the county to hold a meeting on that time frame and recommended combining the regular meeting with a special meeting on June 25. Davidson said department heads believe administrative and housekeeping matters can be handled on the rescheduled date and that the change would provide the board a summer break if it desires.
Commissioner Jeanne Gardner moved to reschedule the June meeting and cancel July 3; Commissioner John Tolbert seconded. Commissioners discussed county code definitions for regular meeting days and acknowledged that because June 25 is not a regularly scheduled county meeting day, it will be called a special meeting in county records.
The motion carried unanimously.
