The Maricopa County Board of Adjustment continued case BA2500002 (Thompson property) to the hearing on June 19 because the applicant was not present for the scheduled public hearing.
Planning staff described the request as an increase of rear yard coverage to 64 percent (where 30 percent is the maximum) to allow a future 7,200-square-foot detached accessory structure on a 35,251-square-foot lot in the R5 zoning district. Staff reported imagery suggesting some commercial-type uses on the site and noted the variance, if granted, would be limited to residential uses or C-1 commercial uses allowed in R5.
Because no applicant or public speakers attended, the board moved to continue the case to the June 19 meeting.
