The nominees said they did not foresee conflicts of interest that would block service; Walker noted she serves on a charter school board and Houston said he has community ties but no conflicts. Council members asked about prior outreach and the importance of recruiting representatives from specific police districts; members confirmed both nominees are city residents representing Police Districts 5 and 7 respectively.
