Emergency management: ESInet 911 upgrade set to go live May 14; Skywarn and pipeline briefings held

The Sawyer County emergency management director told the Public Safety Committee that the county’s ESInet 911 call-handling project is on track with a projected go‑live date of May 14.
The director said dispatchers received updates and training from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Hayward Ranger, participated in hardware refresher training for the county’s 911 equipment, and took part in National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week activities. Two dispatchers were scheduled to attend peer-support training and another dispatcher was scheduled to attend incident-tactical-dispatch training in Waukesha later in May.
Emergency management also hosted Skywarn spotter training on April 22 (about 10 attendees, up from eight the prior year) and said the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) met at an Enbridge facility in Stone Lake to learn about pipeline safety and view a tour of the plant. The director said staff are working on off-site plans with reporting facilities and municipalities and reviewing emergency operations plans with townships and villages.
