Morrow County commissioners approve routine appropriations, coroner renovation change order and hire part‑time deputy dog warden

In a series of roll calls, Commissioners Mason and Siegfried voted yes on approval of the minutes from the May 7, 2025 regular session and on payment of bills numbered 1 through 51. The board also approved appropriations of unappropriated certified monies for local settlement and for the engineer's fund, and a transfer of funds for the engineer's fund. The board approved a change order for the coroner's office renovation with Atkins Construction and appropriated funds from the capital improvement fund to cover that change order. Commissioners voted yes on both the change order and the related appropriation.
The board accepted the resignation of James J. Care from the Morrow County Board of Zoning Appeals. Commissioners noted the vacancy and said the board will meet to name a replacement.
The commissioners adopted a proclamation recognizing the week of May 11–17, 2025 as National Police Week in Morrow County. The proclamation saluted local law enforcement and encouraged residents to join in recognizing service and sacrifice.
In afternoon business the commissioners approved hiring Heather Flanagan for the part‑time deputy dog warden position.
