Board approves multiple labor agreements, employee contracts and food‑service bids

The Lincoln Board of Education voted Tuesday to approve a series of personnel‑related contracts and procurement actions that will take effect for the 2025–26 school year.
Board members authorized tentative agreements with multiple employee groups, including Custodial Employees Association, Nutrition Services Workers Association, Association of Office Professionals, Paraeducator Employees Association, Technicians, and administrators. District staff said the agreements fall within the parameters previously established by the board; negotiations with maintenance and transportation remained in progress.
The board also approved contracts for associate‑level administrators and recommended compensation processes described by staff, again waiving second readings where noted. Separately, the board accepted the results of the district’s frozen, refrigerated and shelf‑stable food bids for July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, with two optional one‑year renewals. Staff noted that while the contract amounts are large, the district serves roughly 4.4 million lunches and 1.7 million breakfasts annually; the food contracts cover core items such as chicken and cheese and amount to roughly $6 million for canned, frozen and refrigerated goods.
On the consent agenda, the board approved routine business items and option‑enrollment decisions. Three board members declared potential conflicts and stated they would abstain from voting on a specific consent subitem (agenda item 9.2.a); their abstentions were noted on the record. Several motions to waive second readings and approve agreements were moved and seconded and then approved by roll call.
