The Rush Valley Planning and Zoning Commission on May 7 approved a building permit for an agricultural building at 179 North Park Street for applicant Dalton Broadhead.
Broadhead told the commission he is proposing “a parking somewhere to park out of weather next to my house,” describing the structure as a 30-by-40 enclosed building with a 30-foot door across the front. He said there would be no power or water at the time the building is constructed; he added utility service might be added “in the future if I can afford it.”
Town staff confirmed the structure meets setbacks and noted that, because it will have no water or power, the permit is processed as an agricultural-style building; staff said typical inspections are limited under those circumstances. Commissioner Scotty Hawkins moved to approve the permit; Carl Walls seconded. The commission voted and the motion passed with aye votes from the commissioners present.
The commission provided no additional conditions beyond the usual permit paperwork and instructed staff to issue the permit following standard processing.
