Iron County Commission approves land-use changes, safety plan and grants in May meeting

Other votes included ratifying local consent for a single-event liquor permit at Woods Ranch requested by the Cedar City Elks Lodge, adopting a resolution establishing an Iron County America250 community committee, approving a Utah Outdoor Recreation Division OHV grant to maintain county off‑highway vehicle trails, and approving routine personnel changes. The commission also approved a policy update to designate Christmas Eve as a full holiday shift under the county policy section described on the agenda.
Most motions were passed by voice vote with the record noting unanimous support. No formal roll-call tallies were recorded in the public minutes for those items reported on the meeting audio.
