City staff told the Environmental Stewardship Board that a stormwater management project to replace a collapsed culvert and associated trail sections under Broadway is imminent and will require construction that will affect traffic patterns and pedestrian access.
Staff said the culvert failure has led to structural problems and that the upcoming construction will include closed lanes and traffic reconfiguration in the affected area. The project was presented as an ongoing public-works priority to prevent flooding and restore trail connectivity.
No firm start or completion dates were provided at the meeting. Staff advised residents and commuters to "be prepared on your commute" and to avoid walking through the active construction site.
Ending
Staff invited the public to watch project notices and traffic advisories on the city website and said the project would be reported in more detail by Public Works as work schedules and detours are finalized.
