Ross told the committee that reprint 1 removed a section that had produced a fiscal impact for card and dice registration; the board subsequently reissued industry notice 2025-37 on May 8, 2025, increasing technology fees effective June 2, 2025. That fee increase, Ross said, “equals out the fiscal note.” The board completed its presentation and the chair closed the hearing after acknowledging there was no public testimony in support, opposition, or neutral positions.
The committee recorded the motion to accept the bill’s entry into the process earlier in the meeting. No policy debate occurred in Ways and Means; the committee’s hearing was limited to fiscal implications because the bill already had its policy hearing in the originating committee.
